Help Files: Help files updated. Projects One of the keys to using Motion Perfect v4 is its concept of a “Project”. The project aids the application design and development process, by providing a disk based copy of the multiple controller programs, parameters and data required for a single motion application. Once the user has defined a project, Motion Perfect v4 works behind the scenes automatically maintaining consistency between the programs on the controller and the files on the PC.
When creating or editing programs on the controller they are automatically duplicated on the PC which means you do not have to worry about loading or saving programs and you can be confident that next time you connect to a controller you will have the correct information on your PC. Motion Perfect v4 keeps multiple backup copies of the project in a sub folder, thus allowing the programmer to revert to any previous version. Project Manager The multi-tasking capability of Motion Coordinators means there will often be a number of different program files associated with an application. In order to keep track of these multiple files and their associated data a major component of the Motion Perfect v4 environment is the project manager.
CamGen Define and generate cam tables using this interactive graphical cam designer. Commonly used cam shapes are pre-built into the CAM library software.
The required dimensions and offsets can be entered and the resulting cam shape is immediately shown as graphs of position, speed and acceleration. Data can be output as a cam table formula or as FLEXLINK parameters. Alternatively, cam shapes can be built up using the interactive 'Piecewise Curve' feature. Enter your XY points and see the resulting cam shapes. Points can be adjusted by dragging points on the graph, giving a truely interactive experience and saving time compared to using trial and error techniques. The resulting cam tables are ready to be copied and pasted into your programs and used with CAM and CAMBOX functions.
3D Visualization Tool The 3D Visualization tool, available in Motion Perfect v4, enables simulation of Machine Motion, using an externally generated 3D model which can be synchronized with the motion program. This tool can simulate realistic movement sequences on a PC in real time. In this way, movement sequences can be tested and optimized safely.
The exported 3D model can be placed into the 3D environment within Motion Perfect v4 and panned, zoomed and rotated with ease while the robot program is running. Each joint and link can be interrogated to find its position in 3D space. Project Encryptor Protect your software inside the controller, allowing you to maintain any in house intellectual property and stay ahead of your competition. The Project Encryptor is a utility that enables a programmer’s intellectual property to be licenced to individual Motion Coordinators.
A project is developed normally using Motion Perfect and then encrypted. Once encrypted the program is safe to distribute and can only be loaded to a controller with a correct key, which is unique to both the controller serial number and source project.
MotionPerfect provides various functions for creating time-related intermediate images in videos. These intermediate images are created using a patented process involving movement-compensated synthesis known as PelKinetics™.
No 'ghost images' are created. In the case of slow motion, for instance, frames are not repeated since this would produce a jerky video image. Each frame is calculated precisely according to its correct position on the timescale. This ensures that even unusual slow-motion levels or speeded up movements are possible. MotionPerfect for the Casablanca comprises the following components: Slow-Motion New images are calculated and inserted between the individual frames of the video. These images are placed in precisely the right position in time as defined by the configured speed (1% to 99%). This ensures that the movements are very smooth.
Furthermore, by stating IN and OUT times, you can create speeded up or slowed down sequences. Even extreme slow-motion sequences are played very smoothly. You are given the impression that you are watching footage produced by an expensive high-speed camera like the ones used for live sports broadcasts.
Fast-Motion You can create professional timelapse sequences like the amazing ones used in modern video clips. New frames are added to the video. These images are placed in precisely the right position in time as defined by the configured speed (101% to 500%).
Furthermore, by stating IN and OUT times here as well, you can create speeded up or slowed down sequences. The picture does not appear jerky even at moderate timelapse speeds. Length-Adjust A scene can be stretched or shortened to the required length with frame-by-frame accuracy without the video sequence appearing jerky. Here is an example of when you may want to use this feature: you want to cover a certain section in the video with an insert scene. The scene that you want to use to cover this section can now be adjusted to fit this length exactly and ensure no 'gaps' appear when the scene is inserted.
