The best-selling first person action series of all-time returns with the epic sequel to multiple 'Game of the Year' award winner, 'Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 2.' In the world’s darkest hour, are you willing to do what is necessary? Prepare yourself for a cinematic thrill-ride as only Call of Duty can deliver.
Online, the definitive Multiplayer experience returns bigger and better than ever, loaded with new maps, modes and features. Co-Op play has evolved with all-new Spec-Ops missions and leaderboards, as well as Survival Mode, an action-packed combat progression unlike any other. Saluting Modern Warfare® 3’s Season of Content, the fourth and final DLC collection deploys with five all-new Multiplayer Maps. Surrounded by mountains, “Gulch” sends combatants into a forgotten mining town with only mine shafts and equipment sheds for cover. The Jersey coast awaits in “Boardwalk,” where fun in the sun means facing enemies on the beach. Players must earn their sea legs on “Off shore” and “Decommission,” where deadly oceanic oilrigs and a maze of rotting ocean liners provide the perfect setting for shoreline-based combat.
Rounding out the collection is a trip to New Orleans’ war-torn French Quarter, where “Parish” pits players against one another amidst the city’s rubble. With its third DLC Collection, Modern Warfare® 3 drops a combat-heavy care package of Special Ops Chaos mode, 4 new Special Ops missions, and 3 FACE OFF maps for the ultimate trifecta in solo and co-op gameplay.
High-altitude Special Ops challenges put tactical skills to the test, with players navigating armed drones above a Russian destroyer and evading RPGs from the roof of a helicopter-swarmed hotel. Upping the ante further, FACE OFF firefights pit players head-to-head on a six-lane stretch of desert highway, at an abandoned crossroads near a New York overpass, and near the path of a violent tornado. A whole new way to play Call of Duty®, Special Ops Chaos mode delivers the ultimate in arcade mayhem.
Experience truly heart-pounding and adrenaline-fueled action while competing for high scores in Resistance, Village, Underground and Dome. Chain kills together against a never-ending onslaught of enemies to increase your combo multiplier and earn performance enhancing perks. Choose your route through each map to optimize weapon pickups, attack, and escape options. Play solo, split screen or online with a friend to take out as many enemies as possible before they take you down or the clock hits zero. Modern Warfare® 3’s second “Collection” deploys with 3 Multiplayer/Survival Mode Maps, 2 Special Ops Missions, and 2 all-new “Face Off” maps.

Platform: Microsoft Xbox 360 Genre: Shooter Release Year: 2009 Game Name: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Channel Rating: M - Mature Publisher: Activision UPC: 492. Product Information In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, developer Infinity Ward aims to ratchet up the intense first-person gunplay, graphical verisimilitude, and deep multiplayer experience that won the original title wide acclaim from critics and consumers alike, while at the same time adding to the overall package with the new, fast-paced 'SpecOps' mode.
The single-player campaign picks up where Call of Duty 4 ended, with gamers once again descending into the shadowy world of terrorists, arms dealers, and nationless armies. Players take on the role of Sergeant Gary 'Roach' Anderson, an elite member of the multinational Task Force 141 and subordinate of one of Call of Duty 4's protagonists, John 'Soup' MacTavish. Task Force 141 is on the trail of Vladimir Makarov, a maniacal disciple of Imran Zakhaev, who has used the death of his mentor as a means of expanding his own base of power. Missions find gamers working off sketchy intelligence as they battle whiteout conditions in the jagged mountains of Russia and Kazakstan, shuffle though expansive desert and cave environments in Afghanistan, and weave between City of God-like Brazilian slums, where misfires result in dead civilians and a failed mission. As was the case in Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2 supplies players with the most technologically advanced weapons, vehicles, and accoutrements available, including SCAR-H rifles, snowmobiles, and heartbeat sensors. The new 'SpecialOps' mode brings gamers more than 20 fast-paced missions inspired by the frenzied mid-fuselage gunfight at the end of Call of Duty 4.
Players find themselves racing snowmobiles, battling a huge number of enemies at once, or simply attempting to get in and out of a building without dying, and missions can be played solo, in local split-screen co-op, or online with a friend. Those looking for more online action can also take on the 'Free-for-All,' 'Demolition,' 'Domination,' 'Search & Destroy,' 'Capture the Flag,' and 'Team Deathmatch' multiplayer modes. The much-lauded RPG-like system of doling out experience points and unlockable rewards returns in Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer modes, but Infinity Ward has also included a number of new wrinkles to spice up the action.
Maps are designed to be both more expansive and more vertical; weapons feature a variety of new attachments; new 'Pro Perks' let players gain more stopping power, greater speed, or automatic health boosts; and gamers who manage to string together a number of kills gain access to the new 'killstreaks' system, which lets them call for seven different kinds of heavy-duty support, including supply drops, helicopter gun attacks, and unmanned aerial vehicle strikes. Product Highlights Video. Get the version with the bonus maps. I'm a bit late to the Xbox 360 Call of Duty scene. An avid 'Wii' and 'Wii U' COD player because of Wii Motion controls, I recently discovered a way to utilize Wii Motes (with Wii Zapper) on the Xbox 360 (thanks, CronusMax Plus). Since then, my Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 2 games are like 'new' again as I can play with a Wii controller and not a standard Xbox controller. This inspired me to buy Modern Warfare 2, rated by most COD fans as the best COD game of all time.
An avid 'Team Deathmatch' (or online) player, I'm always ready to see new maps and find new ways to defeat the enemy team while supporting my 'brothers' in this simulated shoot 'em up game. It is fun, the graphics are solid considering the year it was produced and I'm just staring to level up to unlock skins, perks and weapon enhancements (i.e. Grips, suppressors, etc.). I bought the version with 'bonus maps' and got it for under $20. A great deal.
